becomes over an entire lifetime, and you may begin searching for quit smoking aids or natural ways to quit
smoking.
People should quit smoking, why?
There are a million reasons. Smoking affects just about every part of your body from your lungs to your
heart, and even your kidneys and liver. The biggest risks for smokers are lung cancer and emphysema.
Cigarette smoking stops the lungs from normal functioning, inhibiting breathing and damaging the lung
tissue.
Though most smoking related damage can be repaired over time if you quit smoking, emphysema cannot be reversed
once you have it. Heart disease is also a concern for smokers. Smoking causes greatly increased risk of heart disease, especially if you are also
overweight, inactive or have high cholesterol. If you have heart disease in your family, you should quit
smoking immediately to reduce your chances of a heart attack.
Smoking can also increase your risk for having a stroke, especially if you are a woman taking birth control
pills. This combination can be deadly and should be stopped immediately if you are a woman over the age of
thirty. Smoking also causes decreased circulation that can lead to blood clots, especially later in
life. It can also increase diabetic symptoms in those suffering from the disease.
