The smell and the health hazards have finally made it clear to the state of Illinois that smoking in residence halls is no longer allowed. Gov. Blagojevich approved the new law in May and UIC immediately followed the ban. While most freshmen are just out of high school and they make up the majority of the dormers, they may not be used to the new strict rule.
