Smoking fell by 50% in Qatar during Ramadan, survey finds (Gulf Times)
SMOKING during Ramadan fell by 50% in Qatar, according to a survey conducted by the Indian Anti Smoking Society (IASS). Most people did not smoke during the day because of fasting and after breaking the fast they were busy with prayers and other activities, a spokesman for the society said.

A smoking cessation program targeted toward pregnant women received this year s Susquehanna Health Chairman s Quality Award. Dr. Mark Schildt, associate director, Family Medicine Residency, headed up a team that used counseling and education to help the mothers-to-be quit smoking.
