
The hardest part about quitting is not really quit, stigma is strange that everyone (even non-smokers) have created about how hard smoking is supposed to be. The irony is that it has to be so hard!
When most people stop smoking, they do not actually become non-smokers. It become smokers, according to their success, are non-smoking at the time. Whichever method you are using either nicotine replacement therapy, pills, or cold turkey on their minds are still smokers.
The problem is that people try to treat smoking as a physical addiction, when dealing with an addiction mental. You will notice that you can easily go for hours without a cigarette, as long as you know you get to the smoke of time. If it was purely an addiction physical, this would not be possible.
You are so addicted to snuff as his mind wants to be. You have connections in his mind between certain events (job loss, being on the phone, working on a term paper) and smoking that trigger the urge to smoke. To really become a non-smoker, we have to disentangle these connections and realize that cigarettes will not help you actually do anything.
