Ironman Coeur d'Alene was the only race I tried that was two loops of the three events. Originally, I do not think I care too much about it. Especially swimming. I thought it might be a slower than normal because it actually leaves the water after the first lap and running on the beach to begin the second return. Moreover, not a swimmer, I thought it might be a bit of the fall have to return the water after reaching the coast.

I was totally wrong. I actually had one of my best times to swim in this race in particular. Moreover, leaving the water between the loops was a bit of a break from the repetitive pounding of the crawl.

The only thing that sticks in my mind, however, is that the bathroom in the starting area is very congested, and things can get a little hairy, especially in the early stages.

The bike course was very interesting and several features downhill very fast, sweeping curves. Pay attention to "slow down" warning signs. You will not find the "massive" features rising Ironman Canada, but find plenty of hills and long, flat stretches. You can even make your way through a greyhound racing track at one point. The benefit of a 2 loop bike is that you know exactly what to expect runoff and are more aware of the high speed becomes a challenge.

I suppose the most difficult stretch to twice was the marathon. His really very cruel to bring him right past the entrance to the transition area at the end of the first loop. You really have to grit your teeth and push through the turn-around during marathon and head back toward the road. If I had a choice, I prefer taking a course in return.

All in all the event was a excellent experience. Given that is a fairly new event, the organization was excellent and the volunteers are unsurpassed. Also its a beautiful and picturesque part of an Ironman and I'm sure it will not go wrong giving this race a try.

I can see in the near future that this Ironman is a race that quickly fill and requires early registration to enter.
