quit smoking day 9

Deciding to quit smoking is without doubt the best I could do if you've been smoking for any number of years like me. I always wanted to stop smoking in their mostly for health reasons and as I was getting older and after over 30 years as a chain smoker was beginning to feel the adverse effects of a sum.

Although I had to leave again I had no motivation or determination to actually carry it out, but one day was sort of forced into it. Let me share with you what did it for me before sharing a set of tips to quit a few with you.

I am a Canadian, but had been living in the Philippines for a number of years that cigarettes are very cheap, about 50 U.S. cents per packet at that time. I had not returned to Canada in a few years for just before returning home on a visit for a few months I bought my allowed two boxes just under $ 4 each. Two weeks later, when I ran I went to the convenience store to discover that a package of 25 sticks cost me over $ 9.00 dollars. I almost had a heart attack. Since I was already smoking at least two packs a day that went directly to bankruptcy and ultimately going to be broke.

Now, to top it off, when I returned to the city of Davao in the Philippines, our famous mayor Rodrigo Duterte Davao had decided to make one of the first smoke free city in Asia and throw people in jail for violating the law. So if you have been captured smoking in public would have a fine plus a night in jail in the city. Man … I was in trouble, then?

I had to leave fast. I personally took the cold turkey route, but I would not recommend this to anyone because the chances of failure are very high so here are my tips quit smoking if you want to increase your chances of success that can help you get in the way of quitting forever

1. Sketch of a list of why you want to quit. A list of clear set of goals in mind will help you stay on track. In this way all their good intentions, will have a greater chance Success

2. Decide on a specific date to quit and stick to it. This may be the single most difficult to leave the tip keep smoking, but it is imperative first step. Do not be tempted to try to gradually reduce their consumption, several studies have shown that most people only tend to smoke more of each cigarette, nicotine levels while maintaining the same level as if they have reduced their consumption at all.

3. Just tell somebody for its decision.

4. Get rid of everything related to smoking. Including ashtrays, lighters, cigarettes and, of course.

5. Never buy a pack of cigarettes with their own money. This means that others would have to provide their own packages of cigarettes. Let's face it: with the high price for the package, others soon will avoid like the plague. Soon, very soon, will become a loner.

6. Stick something in her mouth.

7. Never carry a package of cigarettes with you. This means you can not depend on having a cigarette when you need it. This is an effective behavior change. As a result, must overcome the dependence – Their crutch, their addiction – in time.

8. Breaking a sweat. It has been said that smoking and exercise do not get along, so you would rather do? A great tip quitting smoking is beneficial for your health is to establish an exercise routine. Regular exercise will reduce your dependence on nicotine and is the guarantee to enter a much better way. Cardiovascular exercise is a better option than weightlifting, but doing so is not a bad idea at all.

9. Tell your friends and family of his decision to quit. This will automatically give you a support network that can help you in your difficult times and could not to put his big mouth to shame. In addition, friends and family who still smoke with a little luck to avoid smoking around you, thus minimizing the chances of the you are tempted enough to start smoking again.

10. At the beginning and for a few weeks, at least, stay away from places and situations that will tempt you to smoke. Many people associate smoking with alcohol consumption, so it may be a good idea to stay away from drinking if you are a person.

Immediately after quitting I had some very unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. I had headaches, nausea, stress, irritability, cravings always food and cigarettes, and a general feeling of dizziness. Do not be surprised as you will most likely experience one or more of these symptoms and you just will have to tough out a few days or weeks but eventually go away.

Stay focused YOU CAN DO IT! Every day that you win the fight is a step toward success and not be too hard on yourself if you relapse. Nobody is perfect, and smoking is one of the worst habits of rest. Use relapse as a opportunity to examine the reasons for smoking again, and find a way to deal with such situations better in the future.
