Pregnant and want to quit?
Im currently 18 weeks pregnant and I quit cold turkey. The people I work with tell me that its bad for my baby to quit cold turkey, because the baby is used to nicotine. My doctor told me to reduce gradually, but it is difficult after that I have to no other. This is why they want to quit cold turkey.
My doctor told me that when she was pregnant out gradually. Nicotine is a very powerful substance and transmitted to the fetus. Think about how you feel when you go two hours without a cigarette, which is what your baby goes through only who have no other option. Quitting cold turkey can cause significant fetal distress and is strongly discouraged by most doctors. It is safer to the baby if you slowly reduce until it's not just quit at the same time.
