Why did I get sick (cough, sore throat) when I try to quit smoking?
Every time I try to quit smoking in 3-5 days I'm cold / flu-like symptoms. It begins with a sore throat that turns into a cough that leads to chest congestion. And it can last up to weeks. In general, until decide to start smoking again. Then gradually go away. Someone (not a medical person) once told me I had to do with my esophogas trying to heal. Really I do not know, just hoping to get some answers and maybe some suggestions for avoiding this situation. I am ready and really hoping to quit smoking in the '08. But the agony of a throat cold / pain that almost is not worth growing discomfort.
A lot of people that go get flu symptoms the first week (s) or more. (Common side effect). It's the "dirt" work is the way out of his body. The cilia that have been covered by the tar are now coming back to life. Also some people cough a lot (to clean the tar from the lungs), this can result in sore throat or feeling of tightness in the chest. It might even be coughing in his sleep and not being aware of it. Allergies (if previously experienced them) often come back after quitting. Sometimes is just what seems immune systems. The bodies are so exceedingly careful not to be contaminated, which range in "Hyperdrive" against any toxins. What is why people seem to have an allergy or reaction to colds more frequently after leaving for a while. Nicodemon here likes to try to convince people who quit smoking is making them sick, or whatever. Do not listen to him. Your body is trying to recover from years of tar and toxic exposure. Te feel better (especially the part about sore throat) in a month, usually.
